About Cathie

Over the past decades, Cathie led the revitalization of Magazine Beach Park—securing millions in public investment and transforming the park into a vibrant community resource. She co-launched the restoration of St. Augustine’s Church, created the community history project “If This House Could Talk…”, and helped preserve the legacy of local folk artist Peter Valentine.

A former museum curator with a deep respect for history, Cathie brings creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to everything she does.

Now on the City Council, she’s working to ensure that Cambridge remains a place where everyone can thrive. Cathie advocates for carefully planned housing and transportation, safe bike lanes, and smart climate resilience strategies to protect our green spaces, historic buildings, and vital infrastructure.

Cathie listens. She builds consensus. And she gets things done.

A longtime Cambridgeport resident, Cathie lives with her husband, Sam, and their son, Ben, a CRLS graduate. She brings the experience, wisdom, and integrity Cambridge needs right now.

Join us in re-electing Cathie Zusy—a thoughtful leader who puts community first.
